Hidden Stories

Winner · Apple Swift Student Challenge 2024

SwiftUI · REST API · iPadOS

An interactive SwiftUI experience that surfaces the stories and contributions of women in science and technology. Illustrated scenes introduce each figure, and her story opens as a reading card in place, with content served over a REST API.

I designed and engineered it on my own, for iPad. Apple selected it as one of 350 winning submissions worldwide.

Problem
These contributions are rarely told in a form people actually want to explore.
Approach
A guided, illustrated narrative in SwiftUI with story cards opening in place.
Platform
Built for iPad, with content and copy delivered from a REST API.
Result
Swift Student Challenge winner, 2024.
Apple Swift Student Challenge winner badge, 2024

About

Where architecture meets interface craft.

I work across the whole surface of an iOS product, from architecture decisions and Design System foundations to the last few points of spacing. Three years in production taught me that the interesting problems live where engineering constraints meet interface craft.

Server-Driven layouts. Migrations that cannot break the app for five million people. Components other engineers will build on for years. And, outside work, my own products across augmented reality, games and well-being.

I have been shipping iOS in production for more than three years. I studied Computer Science and trained at the Apple Developer Academy.
